Prescription Medication Take-Back Results

The Rome Police Department in conjunction with Walgreens Pharmacy collected 251 pounds of unwanted and unused prescription medication as part of the April 27 th. D.E.A. National Prescription Medication Take-Back Day held at Walgreens in Rome. These medications have been turned over to the D.E.A. and will be destroyed in an environmentally safe manner. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet. Rome Police would like to thank all of those who turned in their unwanted medication and in doing so, have helped  make our community much safer.
